New favorite learning app!

It's inevitable that Evin is going to know his way around all the current technology.

However Nicole and I are still surprised by how well he knows his letters thanks to the endless alphabet app Nicole downloaded a while back.

We're still working on numbers we count 1, 2, 3, 1, 7, 13!!!!
So this new app we discovered was very exciting!

Zorbit's Math Adventure really is an adventure, full of laughs and concentration!

You start off meeting Zorbit an adorable little alien, and a heavy sleeper!  He needs your help getting to planet earth!

The first task is to wake the sleeping Zorbit by tapping, dragging, and counting all sorts of items in his room!

Other levels address topics such as less and more, inside and outside, number identification, counting and more.

Another favorite part is that in addition to collecting stars that will power Zorbit's space ship to planet Earth, you collect stickers that you can place in your own version of each level!

Evin, however, has a favorite level......and we play it OVER and OVER and OVER.

Meet Oswald....he's an adorable creature with a ravenous appetite and Evin's favorite thing!
(I hope they come out with a Oswald stuffed animal soon).

As you feed him he burps, farts, and even poops! PERFECT for the little boy in our house!

Check it out! I can guarantee I'll be gifting it to quite a few parents in the VERY near future.

$3.99 for at least 5 hours of fun so far and we're no where near done playing all the levels repeatedly!

Strider Bike Party with Bike Wash Plans!

We had a great time at this Strider Party and enjoyed our bike wash.  It cost about $60 to build and about 30 mintues!  Super easy!  I found the plans over at Design Mom so check it out and build your own too!

Every party so far we've made a few staple treats but hands down the favorite is always the Monster Cookies Dough Dip from The Girl Who Ate Everything!

I'll walk you through our obstacle course, we seem to add something new every time!

First you start with a small ramp....

Then head through the hoop of fire....

Then head for the big boy ramp....

After that through the cave of the winds....

Maneuver the weave poles....

And finally wash off that bike!

It's a ton of fun and we've met some great new people and awesome kids!

And we sort of made them tired at the end of the night.....

Backyard Camping FUN!

Backyard Camping fun!  Tin foil dinners and more!

We got our fire started, then headed inside to prepare the tin-foil dinner.

Frozen chicken, italian dressing, potatoes, and mini carrots.
(next time I'll add some butter and water and wrap a little tighter to keep all the juices in!)

Wrap it up and set to the side.

Then I prepared all the ingredients for our waffle cones deliciousness.

Bananas, chocolate chips, strawberries, and marshmallows!

Wrap them up and set them to the side.

Then I hollowed out some oranges and filled with cake mix.  USE brownie mix!!!!

Put the tops on and wrap in foil!

Then we headed outside and put the chicken packets on the fire, near the flames but in the coals.

Then we set up the tent and did some Gram Cracker monster wrestling!

After 45 minutes I added the oranges and after an hour I took the chicken off the fire...we didn't have tongs so I was using two stakes like clunky chopsticks.....awkward.

I forgot to take pics of the chicken because it was delicious.

Here is the pinterest fail.  The cake leaked out and made quite a mess.  What was left in the oranges was yummy but would have been much more yummy if we had icing!

The waffle cones were the biggest success!  YUM!

We did stories in our tent and slept out there with the dogs!  Evin woke up at 4:30 in the morning wanting to read more stories and eat cereal.  I let him read some stories and told him he would have to go back to sleep and eat cereal when the sun woke up.

He fell back asleep eventually and then popped up at 7:30 and yelled "SUN WOKE UP!  CEREAL TIME!"

Here's your recipe
